A note from Rose:
Now that things are starting to get somewhat back to normal, we want to remind everyone of our Volunteer Time Off policy. It’s a great opportunity to be paid while giving back to your community. We appreciate your participation and would love to see this program expand as more employees get involved.
As we continue to try to find ways to stay healthy during the pandemic, Carol Ann shared with us a great tip regarding PeerFit.
"So I recently discovered that PeerFit has a section where we can download 1000’s of workout videos to do at home for only 6 credits a month? Alive gives us 40 credits a month so this is a steal! Might be good for those that are active and really missing the gym during this time."
Along with our Blood Drive on this day, we will be will be joining the fight against heart disease in women by showing our support and celebrating National Wear Red Day!
Please take a selfie or socially distant mask wearing photo with your co-workers, wearing your best red outfit (or red Heart Walk T-Shirt if you still have it) and submit your photos to the AHA by 3pm on Friday, February 5th to be featured in a collage on their social media. Submit photos to Allison.Misora@heart.org and copy cpagan@alivecu.coop
We will also be doing a soft launch of our Heart Walk fundraising campaign on this day. Best outfit will not only be the recipient of a $25 cash prize, but additionally a $25 donation to The American Heart Association will be made in their name! 😍
Can’t wait to see your pictures! 📸
2020 Summary:
Direct Loans – $15,441,879.05
Figure includes $723,227.24 existing members who went through IDL channel
Mortgages contributed $5,081,852.34 to this total – AMAZING! (2019 was $ 2,079,804.66) 😲
Checking – 7,057
That’s a net gain of 168 new checking accounts for the year 👏😍
Membership – 14,483
That’s a net loss of -253 members for the year 😥
This was not due to a lack of new membership applications – Closed accounts, closed IDLs & purged accounts weighed heavily on this net result.
Please take a moment to review our November 2020 report.
Thank you all for your contributions to our team and meeting our goals. Great job on cross-selling those Home Equity solutions this month. Best month for these in over a year! We hope the free tablet campaign and the 1% rate discount campaigns are helpful to you in helping to get a conversation started with your members.
For the month of January, everyone can choose to dress casual with jeans and a credit union shirt, as appropriate for their day (For example if you have an important meeting, please dress accordingly). A credit union shirt IS required. Please remember our dress policy still applies otherwise (i.e. no logo wear, except Alive).
Best month of 2020 for direct loans! Awesome progress on checking accounts, members seem to be loving our Free Checking.
However, membership has taken a big hit due to more closed IDL’s and purged accounts. Hopefully we’ll turn that around with the newly released membership campaign. Check out our full progress below.
Congratulations to Jessica Austin!
During her almost two years with us, Jessica has demonstrated strong work ethic and a willingness to lend a hand in any way she can. She consistently showed an eagerness to take on more significant responsibilities. Recently Jessica gladly stepped up to become one of our Certified Financial Counselors. She’s sure to excel in this area especially since she communicates so well with our members. In addition, she always has a positive and friendly attitude towards her coworkers, and we all know we can count on her to follow through on her commitments.
In recognition of her outstanding job performance, Jessica will receive a $200 bonus, an extra day-off with pay and a Tidbit’s lunch for her department. As well as a 3rd Quarter EOQ plague that also comes with bragging rights.
Congrats again!

Hey all,
As a credit union, our purpose is to inspire financial wellness. In order to achieve so, our members must trust that the Alive team not only has their best interest at heart, but feel that they are knowledgeable in the solutions they are offering. Member trust is one of the most important brand attributes our credit union can have to ensure we not only fulfill our purpose, but grow the business in a way it allows us to continue helping more and more people each day.
For that reason, our Brand Bucks Challenge this quarter will test your knowledge of our Home Equity products!
Challenge: Please check out the attached product comparison sheet and answer the following three questions by end of day 7/20/20 for your chance to win a $25 Brand Bucks credit and a Jeans Day of your choice!

Ms. Andrews just moved into her new apartment next to our Touchton branch, she LOVES it at 54 Magnolia! It has all of the closet space she needs for all of the clothing she charged on her high-interest credit cards. However, she just realized her monthly payments combined are a little higher than she would like and although she doesn’t mind carrying over a balance from month-to-month, she would like to have a single payment with the lowest interest rate possible.
Which Home Equity option is best for Ms. Andrews?

Johnny and Sue have been together for 5 years. They recently purchased a home for $350K and made a down payment of $150K from their savings. This was all they had saved up. When they moved in, Johnny proposed to Sue and as a surprise to her, she’s now excited to be planning a wedding! They’re thinking that they want to keep a budget of around $25K, but are open to spending a little more if they need to. Johnny just got promoted at work, so they now know that they’ll be able to make extra payments that will help them pay it off within at least the first 24 months.

As you may remember, back in May we celebrated virtually with our friends at Relay For Life of Jacksonville. Mj was our resident superstar and made a great video that explained why she supported The American Cancer Society. Well, we are doing the same with the American Heart Association’s Heart Walk! 😊
I am looking for volunteers that would want to participate in making a 30 second long video in landscape format, which will be enhanced with music and graphics by the awesome folks at AHA to be used in promo videos leading up to Heart Walk day. You simply will talk about WHY you walk. Do you walk for personal health? Because heart disease runs in your family? Do you walk for a loved one that passed away due to heart attack or stroke? It’s your personal message.
Please let me know if we can expect a video from you within the next few days. I'm looking forward to seeing all of your messages!!
Thanks,
Christian
